Prostap: bleeding and shoulder pain.

Morning all,

I hope we are all well today. A have posted a few times with regards to my endo but my local hospital has finally allowed me to have Prostap with a view to a hysterotomy.

I have had my first monthly injection and I have to say pain wise I have started to see a difference. I am noticing a few side effects/strange goings on and I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies could shed some light on them.

1) Mood Swings - my lord my temper is getting short to say the least.

2) Heavy bleeding - I never thought I could bleed any heavier, I was wrong! I am on day 8 and still bleeding, not so much heavy but I am having to wear a towel 24/7.

3) Left shoulder tip pain. I have suffered with this for little over a year but the past 2 weeks it is becoming noticeable 24/7 and it starting to go past a uncomfortable feeling to a unbearable pain.

Morning sorry to hear your in a lot of pain. I'm on the prostap injection and first couple of months were awful with side effects until I got put on HRT.

The shoulder pain may of been made worse due to the side effect of joint ache, I had bad joint ache to begin with.

I only experienced a normal period and haven't had anything since. Other side effects I have are mood swings headaches/mirgranes hot flushes and weight gain, very hard to shift the weight as well around my stomachs, I've always been slim with a flat stomach but since lap and these injections I'm constantly bloated really gets me down.

The injection side effects are different for each person any concerns speak to your specialist they're there to help, mine is lovely and very supportive xx
