Feeling confused

I had my scan MRI results today and nothing showed. It's not unusual for me as this happened twice before and then with laparoscopies I had various issues. The difference today is that I was encouraged to wait a few months before opting for surgery. We are trying for a baby (I'm 40 next year so time is ticking) so was 'pushed' towards trying to conceive first but that I could call up if I wanted to go ahead. I'm just in pain, swollen constantly, exhausted and intercourse is really not nice so I'm very confused what to do. I know no one can say do this or do that but has anyone tried a specific diet (someone mentioned gluten free helps) or vitamins etc - if I'm going to wait I really need to try everything I can to help get through the next few months.
