Heavy period bleeds g

Hey guys!,

I've had my period for 5 weeks now and it has been really heavy with large clots. (It still is). Can anyone suggest what this might be caused by?

I have this and have a big mass of fibroids on my womb. Go to docs n ask for a scan x

You need to go to your gp who'll check for anaemia, clotting disorders. I was put on iron and transaemic acid. I also had to have an internal and check smear was up to date and a transvaginal ultrasound to check for polpys/fibroids. Then ended up having a hytrescopy abd womb biopsy in gynae outpatients My life was one round of tests for "Womens" problems. Also ended up with coloscopies. Don't ignore it. I think I was considered the mad woman as nothing was found. I had a womb ablation in 2012 . Eventually diagnosed with endometrosis 2014!! In theatre end stage 4. Not easy being a woman.

Also should ask Drs to consider adenomyosis - crudely speaking endometriosis in the womb - one of main symptons is v heavy period. Best seen by MRI
