Feeling slightly lost.......

I'm 33, and very lucky to be a mummy to 3 little people.

I had the copper coil removed early 2015 due to pain and bleeding after interiorcourse, as well as reoccurring thrush.

I was due my period 1st jan(ish). my period started and I've never felt pain like it. My tummy swollen to about 4x its size and I was unable to walk or move.

this has happened each month since and is getting worse,I have been scanned and probed, bloods and swabs.

my right side and under my bellybutton is the most painful

I cannot wee without breathing as if having a contraction, I have the most horrific bowel pain and cannot stand straight.

my GP has today referred me to gynae for suspected endometriosis, she prescribed the pill in the meantime although I'm wary of starting this due to history but of course I'm willing to give it a go.

I feel exhausted and if I'm honest scared, I know that what I have experienced over the last 7mths is not normal for my body.

it's debilitating and having an impact on my while life, at the moment it's contained to a few days a month, so I think I'm lucky compared to some, but I don't want to be fobbed off and left for years without treatment. I've recently left a job whereby I got private health care so I'm gutted that I cannot get a private appointment.

My daughter who is just starting the puberty process is watching me in so much pain that I can't walk,my toddler cannot understand why she can't lie with mummy for those few days - her knees are bloody lethal!!!! I cannot pick her up, or do much for them when it's at its worst.

my 8yr old was with me at my appt today, so I tried hard to put on a brave face, but when I once again had to have my tummy pressed I couldn't hold back the tears, the doc was great and has put it through as an urgent referral, by her own admittance she's not seen someone in that much pain and considered a trip to a&e but my notes show this is a monthly occurrence.

sorry for waffling, just needing to get it out somewhere!

is there anything I can try at home whilst I wait for my appointment?

Hello,

I cant believe the pain you are suffering with, you must be a very strong person.

Have you got a heat pack?

If not, buy one and put this on you as much as possible, especially at night.

Somethings going on in that uterus, with the pain you are experiencing under the belly button would be from there.

I suspect you already had endo and the coil has just aggravated things.

I cannot see how birth control wld not make you feel worse at this point.

It might mask the pain for a bit,but at this stage,i think not much at all,for all the side affects you will get.

This honestly sounds like pelvic inflammation caused by something else in there, especially with the size of the tummy now.

You have been scanned by ultrasound?

Cld you request an mri if that has not shown anything?

If the gyny thinks its endo are they at a specialist centre?

You are doing so well with that level of pain, just a while longer and hopefully we will get to the bottom of it.

Kind regards

Rose xx

Hey. I too am lucky to have an 8 year old and a 3 year old but it is really tough when you are in pain. I felt guilty all half term that we were stuck at home with me hobbling about on drugs.

Get your GP to refer you to a specialist gynae centre and if possible a specialist dr, it makes a huge difference to the timescale if you can get that referral in the first place. I went through local hospital initially cos I was admitted through a and e but after a fairly hopeless week in hospital and misdiagnosis chose to wait a long time for a second opinion from specialist rather than have a non specialist do a lap and thankfully it seems like it was worth the wait.

Hope you soon get some relief x
