In shock!

Please help. Just had a follow-up letter from the consultant I saw nearly two weeks ago and apparently there is also a chance I have adenomyosis too! This wasn't mentioned at the appointment. I know I have endometriosis and I know the prognosis doesn't change but why wasn't I told at the appointment so I could discuss it with him!!!!

I'm 39. I had a hysteroscopy and mirena coil fitted. After being in agony for month they removed it. I had an mri, laparoscopy and some lasering done in November. I saw my gynecologist in Jan when he said because of the extent that it would probably be best to have a hysterectomy. I was referred to bsge at Worcester and saw him last month. Hysterectomy confirmed and prescribed zoladex and hrt which started Friday. He did mention my womb looked odd so I presume this is where the thought has come from. The appointment felt rushed as we had waited 1hr :35 mins to see him. Just wish he'd taken the time or made another appointment to discus x x

I was 39 last year, when I had my hysterectomy for Adenomyosis, I'm still in pain, but I was operated on by a genral gyne and whilst I think he was a great surgeon, I don't think he excised all my endo, so I'm due another lap in 3 months, and I'm starting prostap this week to see if it nessessary to remove overies

Did they say about your overies,?

As you are under a BSGE centre I'm sure he will excise all endo whilst in there doing hysterectomy,

Remember ask away if you need anything,

Where do you live?

I'm under a consultant at the Worcester bsge centre. It's all going womb, ovaries, cervix! Hoping excision too. I live in Evesham. Just totally threw me. He briefly said my womb looked odd but that's it.

Sorry to hear this Nikki! There seems to be a bit of a pattern emerging here. At least you can do a bit of research now, I'd never heard of the other condition until I joined the forum. I hope it will all be sorted when you have your hysterectomy. Keep your chin up x

Well I have decided to call his secretary today. I am going to ask to either see him again or for him to ring me. I am really upset with the way it has been handled. The least he can do is discuss this potential new diagnosis with me. I am feeling much more positive and in control today so they'd better watch out!!!!!

Well after the letter I received on Wednesday from the consultant I tried ringing the hospital on Friday but his secretary was away until today. I rang another Secretary and left a message but no one replied. But today the proper Secretary rang and after I explained how unhappy I was she has agreed to make me another appointment with him before my operation! Now seeing him in May as appointment came today!
