Hahahahahahaha...thanks for making me smile; I know what you mean though. I take amitriptyline every other day (50mg) to help me sleep but on those nights I don't I cannot sleep waking up every half hour or so.

Also, does anyone else have the issue where (due to so many surgeries and/or scar tissue) they constantly seem to need to urinate during the night?! Sometimes I seem to get up at least ten times!

Do you have endo on the bowl and bladder ?

Mine was on my ovary and I'm really worried that it's on or in my bowl or bladder as i have problems going most day

β€’ in reply toJd27

I had it bad on my bowel and some on my bladder; they had to leave some endo around my bowel at my last major surgery due to the time being under was over the expected limit.

It could be related to sciatica (which I also have) to be fair but it is really annoying; one night I noted I got up 17 times! thankfully it was on a Saturday so I could recover on Sunday!

When I had my lap its was only ment to be explorative to see if it was endo

And he said it was on my ovary and in my tubes

I think he only had time to remove and tidy me up

As on my last visit he said it's very difficult and invasive surgery

And put me on Prostate injections and HRT 1 month left of treatment

Day to day pain has got better

Put still have problems with going loo Every day

Really worried I may need to have surgery down their .

The closes help group I could find was in Bristol I'm in Devon this is why I joined this group coz I going to go mad if I did not find some one to talk to

Is the BSGE centre ment to off me any help coz I've had none

β€’ in reply toJd27

I've had a total of 12 ops over the last twenty years; the scarring is now so bad that they refuse to do anymore.

My worst surgery was one where it was to remove some of the endo and should have lasted around 4-5 hours; I was under for just over 11 hours in the end and they still had so much more to do but they brought me round as I'd been under for too long. Prostap is a good way to go to start with (as I did) but I would never recommend Danazol - I was like a homicidal maniac when I was on it and my weight increased by three stones in only 1 month resulting in a cardiac stress (similar to an attack but not as serious).

Lol, it's horrid isn't it, have you tried sleep easy and things like that, I've been taking a loose Vera drinking gel for a few months and my sleeping has defo improved. Tastes yuk but worth it.

The amitriptyline helps and sometimes I use the 'nytol' tablets but I don't like to use them daily as I'm worried I'll become resistant to the effects!

I've been given amytriptilyn for endo pain at night but I'm concerned about using it as i suffer with anxiety and already take medication for that. Does anyone know if amitriptilyn can cause any problems with unbalancing mood.

β€’ in reply toRiverchick

It was given to me (and I've been using for several months now) for 1. response to pain, 2. helping me relax and 3. as an anti-depressant. I've not noticed any conflict with my other medication, including fluoxetine (Prozac). Did your GP or nurse say it would clash?

Riverchickβ€’ in reply to

I found something on internet about unbalancing moodbut when I mentioned it to gp she just said it shouldn't do but didn't sound to certain, I wouldn't want to risk my mental health but I'm in so much pain at moment I'm now taking morphine but still in pain!

β€’ in reply toRiverchick

I think like most drugs some of the side effects have an impact on some people but not others; maybe try it for a week or two and see how it affects you...

I'm glad I've found this group, but it makes me really sad to see so many women suffering, especially not being able to sleep. If only medical marijuana was legal in this country, then we'd all get some sleep!

β€’ in reply toSueBonnington

I used to take it when I lived in the USA, it was so helpful it really was, not only to relax and sleep but it almost eradicated the pain. You can get a version here but I'm sure it's only for terminal illnesses like end stage cancer.
