Hospital appointment

I have my first hospital appointment today with the gynaecologist.

I'm feeling really really nervous about it as I don't want to be fobbed off again, as I have been for the last 6-7 years.

Can anyone help or tell me what I could expect to happen in the appointment today? X

I'm not sure what you could expect as I don't know what stage you're at, but my advice would be to write down all your questions and concerns and make sure you raise them all. Have in mind what you want the outcomes of your appt to be, write them down too and keep pressing those issues. It's so hard to get appts so make sure your time counts! Good luck x

Thank you for the advice. I've been going back and forth to the GP for 6-7 years now, after constant cramps that make me sick, heavy bleeding, uncomfortable bloating, tiredness etc... After having different pills to trying depo injection and nothing helping, I've got this appointment. So really nervous as to what to expect. I've written everything down (symptoms, medication, questions). Thank you again for advice x

Perhaps it's time for a lap so they can diagnose you properly, determine how advanced it is and tailor your treatment x

I had an extremely disappointing gyni appointment with an extremely unhelpful woman. Having said that, it isn't the end of the road. She asked if I would have the coil fitted straight away, I said no. They asked if I would go on the pill, I said no. My advice would be to be persistent. I know it is so hard as I fell foul of it myself and have been put on cerazette for 6 months before they will give me a lap.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you get the answers/help you deserve xxx

I've been put on the emergency list for a lap and hysteroscopy. He was very helpful and really listened to what I had to say. I wrote a list of symptoms and he took the time to read and ask me about it all xx
