Endometriosis pain

Hi guys I am a 39yr old mother of three beautiful children. I discovered pain in my lower abdominals when I was working out in the gym. Thinking I had pulled a muscle I quickly made a appointment with my doctor. Once there she quickly said I need to have a ct scan as my ovaries where very swollen. Later in the weeks I had a CA125 injection further bloods and a conjuring mri scan which was very painful indeed. Thankfully I was relieved o hear I didnt have ovary cancer but did have alot of endometriosis so will have to remove alot of it through keyhole. Earlier in the year feb 2015 I had surgery and they also took out one of my fallopian tubes as I was matted in it. Still experienceing the pain I later was diagnosed with problems withy gallbladder due to severa pain and hospilised on a few occasions. Again I had further surgery to remove my gallbladder and didnt get any severa pain after that. Now still having severa pain in my lower abs I have recently had a inernal ultrasound to find now I have two massive cyts on both ovaries. Now I am awaiting a a consultation for further surgery and feel its never gonna end. Can anyone please let me know what my options are if I was to get my ovaries removed. I know I will go thro the menapause early. Has anyone else experienced this pain as now Iam experienced alot of pain to the side of my belly button like someone poking my very hard all the time.

  • Hi - if it were necessary to have have your ovaries removed (in the opinion of a skilled endo specialist) you would need a low dose oestrogen replacement which could stimulate the endo so the most important point is that your endo must be fully excised at the same time. I suggest you seek referral to a specialist centre. Click on my name and have a look at how to find one.

  • Did someone tell you that your ovaries need to be removed or are you assuming this will be the case? It should be possible to cut out the cysts without removing the ovaries. Make sure they are not drained as they simply refill. The cysts need to be completely removed if going the surgical route.

Also worth considering other methods which some women have found successful. peacewithendo.com/2015/08/o...
