Hiya, do you take the contraceptive pill ? I used to get unbearable headaches to the point they would make me feel sick and I literally couldn't move my head once I lay down. A doctor told me to stop taking the pill for a month too see if that's what was causing that was back in April I haven't had a severe headache since and I didn't go back on the pill either X
Hi,
Do you get migraines or headaches? Because for migraines you can talk to your doctor about getting a prescription. Also diet plays a huge role in headache/migraine severity and frequency! Everyone is different but there are a lot of common triggers out there such as tyramine (found in aged cheeses, cured meats and red wine to name a few) also dairy is another common headache causer and can also worsen endometriosis pain so cutting this back/out may be beneficial for you. Artificial sweeteners, too much sugar, sulfites (found in dried fruits), nitrites (hot dogs, deli meats and pepperoni) and common additives such as MSG can all cause migraines too. Alcohol in general can also trigger headaches and migraines. Stress is also a huge trigger! And muscle/neck tension (so temple and neck massages can help that one)!
As far as the foods that can trigger it - I know it sounds like a lot however you might find only one common food that sets it off and therefore can avoid that intake. Unfortunately it may be a bit of trial and error for you while you find what triggers yours. Hormones can trigger it too and it could very well be the pill increasing their frequency/intensity however I have found diet changes have helped my migraines a lot. The pill has worsened my migraines and I already got them every 2-3 weeks before the pill. There was a stage I was getting 2-3 per week! Not anymore since I've found and eliminated my triggers.
Eating wholesome foods has really helped my migraines and endo pain.
If the trial of elimination is too daunting/time consuming for you I would recommend seeing your doctor for a prescription for migraine headaches (if that's what you have) to help you !
Hope this helps xx
Thank you so much for both your replies. I am not on the pill I got sevre migraines and had to stop. I'm on zoladex and am getting a migraine every other day at least. I have to stay in a dark room with no noise laying down and have been sick while at work.
I generally eat the same every day; porridge, meat and veg.
I've spoke to my doctors and they seem to do a lot.
It's more the trying to hide it at work I've had this job for 7 months and love it after having to leave my 5 year job last year.
I will keep a diary though and see if it helps with triggers. And I'll go back to the doctor. Thank you again x
