I had keyhole surgery i recovered after 2 weeks, but then still i had to take it easy.

They found a large cyst in my ovary and wanted to remove cyst and ovary, but when i was in surgery the cyst had dissapeared and they found endo instead, so they removed this and not my ovary.

I still have pain now sometimes, still almost a year after surgery. I am not sure how it would be when they remove your ovary.

Good luck with surgery !!

Hi I had a Lap 4wks ago to remove chocolate cyst from Ovary & Endo. I was terrified as I had never had an operation before. It wasn't half as bad as I imagined & I had hardly any pain when I came around after op. Wounds healed really well too. You will be fine! Positive thinking works wonders 😊 Good luck!

Why are they taking away your left ovary?

I hope all goes well for you

Hi, I have just had my 6th op and about to have my 7th as I have severe stage 4 endometriosis which is pretty much all over my abdomen. It is nerve racking but try not to worry. I had my right ovary removed and Fallopian tube 3 years ago as so damaged a cyst the size of a grapefruit on my ovary which had destroyed my ovary. The recovery time is about 6 weeks initially but will take you a little longer to get back to yourself. Wounds heal very quick and the scarring is minimal, you can hardly see them as they are so small.

Hope that everything goes well for you

Dont worry. They will have a good look rround to see the extent of the endometriosis. Your left ovary obviously has been compromised by endo cysts. I lost mine one at a time and lived to tell the tale. It wont be that bad but INSIST on finding out exactly what the extent of the endometriosis is. They cant 'remove' endomeetriosis by removing a compromised ovary. It will not be a cure. ASK QUESTIONS! Dont put yourself on an endless round of surgery which will probably only end with removal of the lot. As long as you have an ovary the wretched thing is being fed. Wish I had known all this. It took me 5 emergency surgeries before being freed from the hormone that was killing me.

Do not fear surgery- that is a breeze. Endometriosis is your enemy.

Hi Gill, im glad you asked the question as I too am having an ovary removed and lots of endo from other parts, ie bowel, both ureters and back of womb. The thought of the op isn't worrying me, infact even though mine is meant to be on the 21st Dec im really excited as I just hope it will be the first day of getting my life back.

Hope all goes well with you and let us know how you get on x

Hi

I am having both overies removed next week along with hysterectomy, due to adenomyosis. I'm having abdominal surgery so the doc can have a good look around and see if anything else is damaged.

I'm hoping that this operation is the start of a pain free life and I can get back to work and feel normal.

Can someone tell e what its actually like going into surgical menopause?

All the best to everyone having surgery and hope you have speedy recovery.

Hi gill

Thank you for replying, I'm in Two minds whether to see how I feel or just go straight onto hormones. I'm worried I might turn into a monster lol and I really don't want to lose my sex drive.

I'm also really worried that they may find other problems while they are in there.
