Smear test results

I had a smear test done with my consultant, who told me it would take 2 weeks to come back.. Nearly 4 weeks later I haven't heard, when I ring the consultants Secetary she said they were with the consultant and that she would write to me, this was a week ago! Is there a reason why it's taking so long? I know I sound crazy but I'm going out of my mind worrying about these results and no one seems to want to give me an answer! I'm almost sure I'm fine but a lot of my symptoms match and it was the first thing the consultant wanted to do which worries me even more! Someone please put my mind at rest 😭 Xx

Try not to worry too much. I'm sure that if there was something identified on the smear (like cancerous cells) then they would have contacted you straight away. The fact that they haven't yet done that would suggest that they are probably going to send you a routine letter telling you that it's normal. It's enough to drive us mad waiting for letters, appointments and results but no news is good news as far as results go. X
