Mirena coil...anyone else...?

......feel like a miserable snappy cow bag on the coil? I've had it 2months and apart from putting on weight and having awful skin I also seem to be a really horrible snappy person!? Did anyone else have this and if so did it settle down for anyone? I'm assuming its the coil otherwise I've just turned into a really horrible person!? Xx

hi their its not me but i know someone that had the coil fitted and boy was it a nightmare but if memory serves me right it did but can't remember whether it stayed like that or not hope this helps or not take care bigalan

I've just had my mirena taken out for exactly those reasons. I had it put in November last year. It stopped my bleeding after about six weeks. But every month I felt like I was building up for a period mood swings, bloated, pains, hot flushes and then no period so the build up just kept going. Sounds really over the top but I have got to the point where I don't know who I am anymore, I actually feel like I can't control my anger and then end up in tears the next minute cause I can't release the anger. Depression has also hit me. My advice to you is GET IT OUT NOW before things get worse!!! I persevered with mine(was told I needed to let it settle) but things went from bad to worse. I had it out yesterday which didn't hurt and feel mildly less angry already xxxxx

Oh and I also gained 11lb, I had weighed the same for the last five years before the mirena weight gain x

Well I wish you didn't have to go through that but its nice to have an explanation for how I'm feeling. I feel like a crazy person! The worst thing is I keep snapping at my kids because I have a short fuse and then I feel awful. They're only 1and 4 so they're just going the usual frustrating kid things and usually I'd have loads of patience but at the moment I'm feeling like a terrible person for snapping at them so much. I have my appointment for my lap follow up in 2 weeks so I'll ask to have it taken out then. I cant put up with this for any longer and on top of it I'm covered in spots which I never get and I feel horribly bloated and fat. It was so bad I couldn't even bear to take the kids swimming today because u felt so self conscious and its only been 2months so god knows if it would get worse! Xx

I had a Mirena years ago and it wasn't until my dr suggested I had one again my husband said what a grumpy cow I was!! I've gone for pop now which is helping with one thing. Gp said if we do go down mirena route we could continue pop to ease symptoms

Hi, i've had it for a month and so far so good. I had a really bad day of unbearable pain but I couldn't tell you if it was due to the coil or endo itself.

I do feel emotionally sensitive but I realise that the whole thing has made me more susceptible so ot's now hard to differentiate what's causing what.
