What are people's experience of the POP? Gyn not keen for me to take the combined pill so will be starting POP after my lap. He said I wouldn't have regular periods but have random bleeding which I'm not keen on. So looking for others views and experiences. TY in advance

Hi I started Pop in December for scar endometrosis. I do get random bleeding which is a bit annoying and inconvenient but scar Endo is way better so I'm willing to put up with that

I was put on Pop in March. I started on 23rd March and bled everyday until I stopped taking it in May. All my pain disappeared but I couldn't handle the bleeding everyday. When I took the same pill before I had my son it was absolutely perfect, no periods, no pain. But it doesn't agree with me now whatsoever. Hopefully this won't be the case for you and I wish you well :) xxx

I think it is trail and error for every women is so different and I don't think one seems to get the same results as another.

I had it and got worse pain because I was bleeding all the time. The only thing that has stopped all bleeding is the coil. But It hasn't stopped the endo pain.

Good luck

I have coil at present which is coming out at time of my lap. Had pain & bleeding with it, I'm better than was but not helping my symptoms enough so gyn agreed it was lap time

I took this following my lap but it didn't agree with me. I had headaches all the time, it made me anxious and I was having a 2 week cycle / some pains in abdomen. All in all it didn't help me. When I came off it I had a day where I cried constantly. Not for me!

But it may be fine for you as everyone is different - hope it works!

I have been on the POP on and off for around 5 years now, maybe even slightly longer! Everyones body deals with the hormones differently though!

I have tried different types of POP, such as Cerazette, Micronor and Norgeston!

Cerazette was awful for me - anxiety, mood swings, bleeding, pain, and just generally made me feel rubbish!

Micronor wasn't too bad, although this was ultimately the worst for me periods - i was having a cycle every 2 weeks, and was just generally in pain all the time!

Im currently on Norgeston, and have been since March! Im finding this one ok at the moment, i still get the odd pains here and there when i have me period, but my moods have certainly been better! And my periods have been a little crazy but they always have.

To be honest though, i truly think everyone will react differently to any type of hormone, so you could always just try it for a few months and see how you feel....if you hate it then it doesn't matter, your GP will find something else to help, but you may find you get on ok with it!

Hope this helps!
