Hi have just found out I have stage 4 endometriosis and that it is so severe it has collapsed my womb and I now need a hysterectomy. I'm 42 and have been trying for a baby for 5 years. I've always known something was wrong but doctors didn't want to know . If anyone can offer any advice I would be grateful

I'm sorry to hear about your endo. How has the Dr diagnosed this? It is important with endo that you see the right Drs and while some very experienced practitioners can see a bit from ultrasound it is likely they will need to do a lap to see exactly what is happening.
So my advice would be to get the best endo dr that you can (only an expert in endo) and if you decide on surgery make sure that all the endo is removed.
Having endo is very upsetting and being given the news that you have been given is devastating, make sure you have someone with you that you can trust and will support you.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I had my laparoscopy on Friday which is when i found out . Surgeon did say they could try further surgery but that it would be unlikely that it would be very successful. Just waiting for another appointment with him. So all I can do is wait . I just feel that if there is no chance of having a child of my own it would be best to remove the problem if that's possible.
I can helps some with hysterectomy questions, i am still recovering from one.
