I have recently been referred back to hospital as the pain I once had under control has got so bad I am struggling. I end up being sick and can't keep any food in me when I am on my period, no sooner have I eaten I'm running to the toilet..
Had ultra sound done and was told that ovaries are stuck under my womb and my womb is tilting. Also my bowel is stuck in all the mess too.
The only treatment they could offer me was the coil and they inserted it the same day which was so painful. am now on day 5 of the coil and suffering with bad cramps and the Endo pain is starting to come on.
What I don't understand is how is the coil meant to help me when everything is stuck together, surely they should of cleaned away all the Endo and then put it in.
Has anyone else had this? Also does anyone have anything good to say about the coil as everything I am reading is negative and I really regret not coming away and thinking about having it done.
I'm 36 with no children

I'm sorry for what you are going through at moment.
Are you in the UK? If so I am guessing you were seen by a general gynaecologist and not a BSGE accredited endo specialist? If this is the case then it's probably a blessing in disguise that the surgeon didn't attempt to unstick your organs as they probably lacked the skilled to do and may well have done more harm then good.
If you are in the UK you can request your GP refers you to an accredited endo centre where they have specialist skilled in excising endo (ie cutting it out as this is the gold standard of treatment), though be mindful some centres are better than others so it pays to do a bit of digging before requesting the referral. You don't just have to go to your local one and each centre has a team including colorectal surgeons, urologists and pain management specialists that can be called upon when necessary.
You can find a list of accredited endo centres at the following website: bsge.org.uk
With regards to the coil, unfortunately the coil is not going to fix the issue of stuck organs, it will need to be addressed by a skilled surgeon at some stage.
I can't comment personally on experience of the coil as I must admit I have declined it several times in the past after reading negative feedback about it. That being said I do know some women have good experiences but suspect you are less likely to hear about these - people usually are more likely to report the bad than the good!
I agree with everything in Jo's post. You are not being treated by the right people. They don't know what they're doing but thankfully they have not attempted surgery so that's good!
I recently had surgery for all the same things you have and I'm fine now. There is a way through this for you.
Good luck with getting referred to the right specialist. x
Hi brownies, I had surgery 3 years ago because everything was stuck like it is now and they put in some mesh that dissolved and this stopped organs being stuck together. After a couple months I felt great and it's only been the last few months that the pain has got worse.
I was hoping they would do the same again and then put the coil in, but sadly not, so I feel that the coil has no chance of working with all the crap inside me still there.
I no the hospital are struggling to find the best way forward for me but I feel like I have been given the coil to shut me up xx
