Which centre are you going to? X
hey
I think what will happen really depends on the competence of your actual doctor. If they are sympathetic you'l hopefully find the appointment helpful - they will ask you questions about your symptoms, your cycle, maybe do an examination or send you off for tests and scans. They will talk through treatment options with you and allow you to make a decision about the next step.
However, some doctors can be quite dismissive, so be prepared to have to push for the treatments you want in case this happens.
My advice to you would be to know what you want out of the appointment before you go in. Research the options you have from here and see what you think you want to do - do you want to go on the pill or another medication? Are you happy to treat yourself as if you have endo or have the op to confirm? Think about all this stuff and be prepared to ask for the things you want.
If you know what you want the outcome to be before you go in, it wont matter if the doctor is bad or not, because you'll already have decided what you want to ask them for.
Most importantly, remember that any decision to be made about your body in entirely yours. Doctors can advice you, but don't let them bully you into doing something you don't feel comfortable with.
If you do not like your doctor do not feel discouraged. It is always possible to change to someone else.
I really hope you have a positive experience and get some answers!!
Let us know how it goes
