Decapeptyl for Endometriosis

Hi ladies,

I had my first decapeptyl injection last Thursday, and since then I've developed swelling, bloating, feeling generally unwell, painful limbs and abdomen and rashes.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does it ease?

My consultant has not yet got back to me and my gp isn't sure what to do!

Advise please?

Hi

I am on those injections and yes I too have had many of those things along with others including bleeding. Did the doctor tell you that essentially you are experiencing the 'change' as the injection stops your ovaries from working temporarily? Were you prescribed tibolone to replace the oestrogen? This may help. It will settle and the main thing is the pain eases and becomes more bearable. I won't lie though it's not all plain sailing hot flushes, mood swings and feeling rough but then again that's how the endo made me feel but the injection made it a bit more bearable. Anything that eases pain is a definite plus in my book.

I hope this helps. Anything else you want to know please just ask.
