I'm on my second zoladex the first was a month long the second which I have in now is a three month. After the first implant it took about 4-5 days and I started getting hot flushes, aches, headaches, dizziness, nauseous, periods stopped and generally feeling exhausted. It has reduced pain a little but I'm finding the side effects tough. After the second injection of a three month implant the side effects were immediately stronger and overwhelming and knocked me for 6 this was 2 weeks ago and I've not really recovered. I can't have hrt which is meant to help as I have a clotting issue, and I think I'm unlucky with my side effects as I pretty much have the lot. It's a necessary evil for me while I await lap. gynae so believe I have stage 4 endo with tilted uterus, kissing ovaries, cysts and probable bowel and bladder involvement though.

Hopefully you will be ok get hrt as soon as you can as I'm told that helps.

Hi, i had a 3 months injection and side effects started at 5 weeks. My side effects were not too bad, I had some hot flushes, a few restless nights and acne. None were too intense and definitely a lot better than I expected. I was dreading it but overall wasn't a bad experience for me and I have enjoyed not having periods for a few months! X

I had a 3 month injection a few years ago, I can't remember exactly when the side effects started but I had hot flushes, night sweats, restless nights and restless legs. Their the main side effects I remember. They were annoying but they were manageable for a short term. My body went back to normal after about the 4th month. I didn't have hrt so not sure if this would help.

Thank you for the replies. I already have nausea which is how I normally react to any hormone, the docs have had me on loads of things over the past 6 years and anything with a hormone in effects me! If it takes the pain away though it'll be worth it! I hope it works quick!

I had 3 months of zoladex and didn't have any side effects until week 6 ish I only had a couple of hot flushes but the pain in my joints was horrific. However the endo pain improved hugely.

Thank you for your reply. I think it must effect everyone so differently! It's just good to get an idea of other people's experiences so as things happen, or not as the case may be, I am not worrying about it!! The pain is bad tonight but I went to work today for the first time in over 2 weeks thanks to Easter hols and then 2 days off sick so I'm dosed up on tramadol, naproxen and Gabapentin in the hope that I get some sleep later!!! I really do appreciate the support xx
