Endo,pain and breastfeeding.

Hi everyone. I have had daily pain in my pelvic area now for about three years. I fell pregnant in 2013 and still had daily pain. when I was 5 months pregnant the pain dissapeared and came back a month later. The moment I had my baby and started breastfeeding the pain dissapeared for 7 months. when I stopped exclusively breastfeeding It came back slowly but surely. My gynae has put me on Visanne to see if this may help. I have asked him if thinks it is endo and he said it's possible. Now the questions. 1)Do you think it's endo taking into account that it went away when I breastfed? 2) How long does it take Visanne to work? 3) Can endo cause daily pain(not just during period times)? He said a lap is the last resort.

Hello,

I have been breast feeding for 14 months and I don't have any pain at all now. I have only had one period and had pain during that. Prior to breast feeding I had pain, not daily but during my period. I am convinced it is the breast feeding keeping endo at bay. Other women may have daily pain, but I never have. I have never had Visanne so can't comment on that.

xx

Breastfeeding is the same hormones (more or less) as pregnancy. If pregnancy put your endo to sleep then this would have continued into breastfeeding :) The issue with pregnancy is it takes months for your body to suss out that its pregnant and stop making endo and that there's a person in there stretching out all your affected areas and kicking them.

I had my baby in 2013 too and am now pregnant with another. I breastfed constantly in between. This pregnancy is much easier endo-wise. It can be endo definitely. I don't know about visanne, never had it. Did have zoladex, is that a similar one? Did not work for me at all. Endo gives me daily pain. It peaks more when I'm stressed or have done too much physically or have eaten, it really depends where it is. Are you into regular periods now? I would go for the lap as it's the only way to know what's going on xxx

Thanx for the reply. I thought in the beginning it was stomach problems. Went to a gastroenterologist and also explained how it went away and he actually referred me to a gynocologist the thing is just the gynocologist will only do the lap if all fails,so now I have to wait 2months to see if the pills work. I actually have no problems with constipation or diarrhoea it's just this constant pain and bloating. does not matter if I eat super healthy the pain is always there!Except when I was breastfeeding I coud it and drink absolutely anything and would have no pain???????
