Hi endo sisters I'm having a really bad flare up @ minute & my hubby finds it hard to understand , I'm still waiting on another Gyane appointment since Nov 2014 , I'm just wondering I live in Northern Ireland & would appreciate any help or advice how to go to a private endo specialist & how much it costs , thanks xx

Hi, I'm in NI (Belfast) as well. Whereabouts are you?

I can't believe the waiting times. It's a nightmare. Do you have a date yet, or are you even just waiting for that? I have a referral to Dr. Moohan in L'Derry and Altnagelvin Hospital just because it's a shorter wait than for any Belfast docs, and he's also on the BSGE accredited list.

PM me, if you need some advice and support. I have been to every A&E, every emergency gyne clinic, and my GP and I have been down almost every road imaginable. I'm happy to chat with you if you need some support.

Molly xx

It's absolutely beyond belief! I can't understand how we're meant to get through this without possibly doing something rash to ourselves! I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Who was your surgeon and where? (I don't know if we can put that info on here, so maybe PM me those details)

I am not going private because from what I can gauge it'll be in the ballpark of £5000. Its up to you whether the wait or the money is a worthy trade off.

As you're just post-surgery, surely they need to see you sooner! You might have an infection, am I right?! If you're in huge pain this soon, I wouldn't doubt it! I had a procedure on my cervix for an abnormal smear in early Feb and I was in huge pain for weeks. After several visits to my GP and several A&E visits (ulster and the royal), the Royal referred me to an emergency gyne clinic no one seems to know exists at City hospital! The GYN who saw me did a pelvic exam and he was worried I had a low grade infection after the surgery, and put me on Ofloxacin and Metronidazole just to see if they helped. I don't know if my pain subsided a bit on its own or whether it was those two antibiotics that helped, but I was in a better way after about a week. It was a two week course of antibiotics, and they're extremely strong.

But, you could be having complications that aren't infection related... what kind of pain are you having, if you don't mind me asking?

x

Unfortunately that is the risk with having surgery that the endo does grow back eventually and the more surgery you have the worse it grows back have you tried the mirena coil?

Holy crap 5k well I don't have that type of Money so will just have to suffer on , I don't think it is infection as my surgery was last year feb (ulster) can't rem the docs name , & when I went to A&E in Nov the Gyane doc said yea it's most likely the endo grown back, so back to square 1 ,what surgery have u had Molly ? Oh the pain is so intense my lower back all pelvic area & hips & legs , I'm lying here in bed with heat pack & dosed with tramadol which isn't working. I didn't know there was a Gyane place is it A&E did u say city ? How's ur pain at the minute ? Xx

I found herbs very safe and effective for pain relief which is what i have been using the last 10 years before doctors decided to treat me, of course if you are using prescribed meds they will interact with the herbs so you can't take both but i found Raspberry leaf tea awesome for pelvic and lower back pain and wild yam capsules are the traditional herb used to treat endometriosis
