I was sent for an pelvic ultrasound last week and phoned the GP today to find that my results were totally normal so I'm feeling extremely disheartened. There are no routine appointments left until mid-March and between work and university the only day off I have until at least the 13th March is tomorrow where I'm going to try get an emergency appointment. My patience is wearing really thin, I'm so tired of waking up feeling sore and having to drag myself to work and uni
What now? Ultrasound results. : I was sent... - Endometriosis UK
What now? Ultrasound results.
You can't see endo through a ultrasound scan, the only way to diagnose is to have a laporoscopy, did your gyne doc send you for ultrasound or Gp, ?
Defoe go back to Gp and get referred to endo gyne doc, good luck
It was a GP referral, there's not actually an endo specialist anywhere near me so it would be a general gynae i'll be referred to.
Hi
I went through this almost five years ago. I wish I had known more about endo at the time as even my GP thought I had it. I should have asked for a referral/further investigations when two ultrasounds in two hospitals came back as normal. In the end a ruptured endometrioma did show up an ultrasound, only endometriomas will show up. By this time (Oct 2014) I was stage 3/4.
Definitely go back armed with your knowledge from this forum. An ultrasound seems to be a GPs first step. I had an MRI a week before I saw the gynae consultant, perhaps you could request that from the GP?
Xx
I'm definitely going to go and demand to have this sorted cos it's really starting to affect my quality of life and as a stringent campaigner for equality for all (I work with a magazine for people with disabilities) I'm pretty keen to get the life I deserve. Thanks for the encouragement !!
I also had an internal and external scan and was told that I was completely normal. I was then told that I had IBS. I kept going back and finally got referred to the hospital. I am 22 and had a surgery yesterday, diagnosed with Endometreosis. Keep on at them!! x
I absolutely feel and understand your struggles, unfortunately we have to wait around a lot when it comes to the NHS. If you have endo, it wouldn't show on an ultrasound anyway, so I would suggest asking for a gynaecologist referral Asap, make sure you get that emergency appointment tomorrow x
