Hi, so I was diagnosed with Endometriosis 3years ago after a laparoscopy. Everything has been getting worse since then and today I got a diagnosis for Poly Cystic Overy Syndrome as well. So I'm being put into the Menopause; for 3 months initially and then potentially 3 more of it helps. I was wondering does any else have any experience with this?

Menopause
Hi Emma,
I was diagnosed with Endo about 10 years ago and was given zoladex to put me into the menopause for six months too. In terms of the injection it wasn't too bad, in terms of the side effects I did have flushes and sometimes I would have to get up to go to the toilet in the night. During my time on the zoladex I did take HRT as well, but I would advise you to look into all options before deciding ( I was only 23-24yrs so didn't really look into all options and just went with what I was advised straight away). I did find the zoladex effective and after my third laparoscopy (stage 3) all has been good since.
Hope this helps,
Emma (35 years)
Thanks for replying Emma. My Mum has come with me for the last two consultations so luckily she asked questions about the HRT, which they won't give me for the first 3 months. I think I'm most anxious about the side effects, my Mum hasn't been through the menopause yet so I've never really seen what it's like! It's the last treatment I have left to try so fingers crossed! Luckily I don't have a problem with injections - although I'm pretty sure the nurse thought I did!
Hi EmmaScherp, when you say you recommend looking into all options before going with the Zoladex, do you mean that you think there might have been better options? How was the Zoladex and HRT? Was it being used as treatment that you were then to come off of symptom free? Or were they considering doing a full hysterectomy when they could see how you responded to HRT?
Thanks!
Molly
I am on prostap same as zoladex , the only symptoms I get a night sweats, the injections are ok, I am sore for a few days after the injection, feels like I am bruised, can't lie on the side where my injection was given. I was in major back pain before prostap , I was on morphine, so for me has been great, I am taking no pain killers at all. Hope it works for you to. X
