Hi all, the longer endo is left does it get worse and do more damage? Thanks x
The longer it's left: Hi all, the longer... - Endometriosis UK
The longer it's left
I think so, that's why most gyne docs want to confirm by a lap, through research I've got the impression that years ago more docs opt for treatment first, but if the treatment doesn't work for you it could be increasing, x
Hi, yes it can get worst xx
Hi! To months is a loooong time being in pain, but I don't think you should worry to much about damage. I was waiting some months for my surgery (last week), and was on the pill (took it continuesly - no bleeding) while I was waiting. Helped me a lot both with pain and worry!
I have waited 14 years for anyone to take my period pain seriously. I was refused a lap five years ago because of my weight and given prostap injections. They worked which kind of confirmed the endo but I still had to wait when I did lose the weight I got re ref to hospital I waited ten months to be seen and only because I was taken over by another hospital was I seen. Endo was far worse than thought it was on bowel bladder pelvis and rectum and consultant told me no matter what treat me at he did I would only ever be at best 50% better.
Ooh jeeze, so how you feeling after the treatment? Did you have to have anything removed? Such a long time for you. I have had bladder problems for years and never got to the bottom of it and now having to have a bowell operation too so I reckon the same thing may be found in May when I have the lap x
I feel like I am just staring to feel human again. I had the endo cut away from all areas and all the scar tissue removed but I am still having bowel pain. I am wondering if the end has gone into my bowel. I think the surgeon said they would be looking at that but I was out of the game when I came around from the op. This is a horrid condition don't ever be sorry for moaning. Unless you have experience of it you have no idea how life altering it is. I think that's why GPS are so poor at getting us seen sooner. My gp was still quoting IBS to me up to two months ago ! But I knew my own body and I knew it was related to my cycle. Never give up pushing for treatment.
Oh Mosevesit just saw the reply. I'm not on the pill I come off it because of the pains and not sure whether to go back on it now because I asked my doctor and he could not advise me of what was best but who else do I ask? My doc has no answers but I have no other contact. Crazy this lonely condition. Spent most of my lunch break on the toilet today because I'm in so much pain. Where's my life gone and keep it to myself now because I feel like I'm getting boring going on about it. Sorry for the rant x
