Prostap and baby

Hi just wondering how long you have to wait after your last prostap injection before trying for a baby? Some say 6 months my consultant didn't say anything as though there is no wait! Would appreciate any help x

Hi I am on zoladex (similar but quiet the same) and i have read 4 months post your last injection at the earliest. I would call your GP or your consultant's secretary to confirm but hope this helps

You have to make sure the Prostap is completely out of your system, so, as I understand it, you shouldnt start trying to concieve until your periods come back - this can take 6 months or longer, as everyone is different. Ask your consultant for more information.

Prostap is used as part of ivf cycles and a lot of women get pregnant naturally while on prostap , without problems , esp in the 1st month on it.

It says use barrier methods while on it but there should definitely be no problems once your cycles resume which, for me , was straight away.

Speak to your dr but be aware they are often quite conservative. There are not tests done so they cannot recommend.

I used condoms while on prostap 1st time ( was in pre ivf days so I thought it could harm baby ) . Thereafter I haven't bothered, tho only had it for a month each time as side effects so bad in me.
