Hi all Im 21years of age and for as long as I can remember have had horrific periods- heavy and pain wise. I was finally diagnosed in August this year with endonetriosis. I suffer pain almost everyday and today it was so extreme I've been admitted to hospital. I am
Sick of only been given pain killers can I demand the laser treatment whilst I am in hospital? It was an option suggested by gynae as I have not responded to other treatments in the past.

Hello, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I'm not sure what the laser treatment is that you are referring to (is it diathermy when you have a laparoscopy?) but I have had diathermy (they burn away the endo) and it came back within months. I have since had excision surgery (where they cut it out) and the mirena coil put in and it has been the best thing ever. No periods and I haven't missed a day off uni in months. Hope you find something that works as well for for but I do agree that you should discuss other options.
Thank you for your advice. I feel like nobody is listening to me as painkillers aren't helping me yet the doctor said IVE just to keep trying them- despite being on them
For years! I'm really struggling to cope with the physiological side of endo now and I'm very close to quiting my uni degree as I have missed so much
