I'm 21 years old and in a year and a half I've had 2 laparoscopys to remove endometriosis. My most recent one was in Thursday. The endo had caused my ovary to stick to my uterus and it has spread to my right side also this time. There was none on my right side last time! It's only been a year and a half from my first one and it's grown back already! I was in pain again 6 months after my first lap. I'm just curious if this is just going to keep happening as each time they say they've removed it all. The doctor who I saw after said that this time they have sent some to the lab to be tested but he didn't say what for or what they could find. I just feel very frustrated and very uninformed.
Just curious if anyone has had experiences like this!
I've even been in prostap from June-August this year..
I'd also like to ask if other women who have had laparoscopys know how long it is before you can bathe or take the dressings off... The hospital haven't told me if its stitches or glue under my dressings or when I can bathe or anything. I just feel quite in the dark...
Sorry to rant on...
Thank you.

Sounds very like me. Don't worry they sell the dressings in boots/sainsburys etc. Ive learnt to buy mine in advance. Shower as soon as you feel ready, I take the dressings off, otherwise it gets really soaked, and don't touch the stitches then reapply the dressings once dry. Leave on for I think it's a few days. Mine grows back fast, even though I was on zoladex, I think that's similar. With me they told me to have my children as after 4 or was it 5 laparoscopies in about 3 or 4 years it wasn't that safe to keep doing it and the next step they want to do is hysterectomy. They actually told me I couldn't have children 'but I might as well try' first. I was lucky to get pregnant at 22. I'm still having babies so no big h yet. I hope it's different for you and they find a way to help you slow it down. But yes I understand totally the pain, fear and frustration you feel. One gynae suggested the implant and coil at the same time. Just be open to try anything and don't listen when they don't agree it's grown back. I wish you all the best xxx
Thank you for sharing your experience! I got the mirena coil fitted on Thursday when I had my laparoscopy but my consultant wants me to get my implant removed as soon as I feel well enough! I'm hoping that it doesn't keep growing back the way it is as I physically and mentally can't take much more! It's so stressful! In glad you were able to have children! Thank you for sharing x
