I'm awaiting a pre op assessment for a laparoscopy that will be done a week or so later but I can't have it done at the moment because at clinic I had a high bp a couple of days later I was in docs having high blood pressure meds and its been 2 1/2 wks and I'm taking 5 mg ramipril having gone up from 1.25 and bp still hasn't come down ! Its 156/104 today I'm so disappointed will I ever get to have the laparoscopy .

This happened to me too...I was so upset when they said I couldn't have the op but they gave me meds and monitored me and luckily it went down enough!!! So there is hope for you too!! I know exactly how you feel though...it was awful! It has gone right back up again now and is higher than ever...I often wonder if it's linked to the endometriosis?!?

Tried 3 diff meds and had all sorts of tests and they just can't work out why it's so high.

I hope you get to have your lap soon...I was so pleased when I could have mine

Starting to think mine is so high because I'm stressing about why lap needs doing so quickly as there is normally a long wait for it and the fact that it won't come down x

Do you know if there's kidney /ureter involvement as that could cause your blood pressure to rise?

Have they run blood for kidney function? X

My dad has high BP and takes 5mg ramipril, but he also takes amlodipine with it as I think the ramipril alone was not enough to control it. Perhaps there's another med you can take with the ramipril? Might be worth asking or doing a bit of googling.
