What did your lap show? Where was your endo located? Is your pain worse at certain times of the month? What does it feel like eg sharp, crampy, pulling, aching? Have you every had surgical removal or laser treatment of endo?
I haven't had a lap, my consultant is reluctant as I had abdo surgery last year which has left me with scar tissue, so the Prostap is to kind of diagnose me without going in.
My pain is a mix of sharp, pulling & crampy in mostly my right lower abdo occasionally in left side. I was told that if all my pain goes I 100% have endo but because it is semi gone I'm a bit frightened I won't be sorted out & what will happen next.
Endo causes adhesions and scarring. Prostap will not help with pain from adhesions because this is a functional pain related to organs eg ovaries becoming fixed when they really like to become free and moving. The fact you have had pelvic surgery before puts you at quite a high risk of adhesions so it could be this causing your issues. If your pain has half improved then you probably have a combination of endo and adhesions. The drug has helped with the endo bit but your adhesion pain still remains.
Adhesion pains tend to be pully and crampy in nature. Mine used to be really noticeable during and after ovulation when my ovary clearly wanted to be free to do what it is meant to do!
The only way to diagnose adhesions is by a lap. A good surgeon will make very minimal excisions to reduce the chance of excessive scarring.
It might be worth keeping a pain diary to see if the pain occurs at the same time every month or if certain activities make it worse.
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I'm in pain right now & it feels like i have a weight pulling. The diary is a great idea I will fo that, I'm due back on July 28th so will discuss it all then
