We've been advised our best option to conceive is ivf anyone else had this diagnosis or going through ivf? i'm not sure what to expect from here on?
I have been newly diagnosed with Endo. Th... - Endometriosis UK
I have been newly diagnosed with Endo. They also found that one of my tubes is blocked.......

Hey I've recently had to have both my tubes removed due to them being blocked. So put option now too is ivf. Sad times but need to stay positive for sanity sake! Now just waiting for a follow up and then I assume at that stage they will discuss our future options. Hopefully they will refer to ivf centre so you can speak to someone
I have both tubes blocked with stage 4 endo. Therefore I had no choice to have ivf which worked on third attempt. Blocked tubes contain fluid that is toxic to embryos therefore it can leak I to uterus and increases risk of miscarriage. So you could in theory get pregnant but the blocked tubes may cause you to lose it. I was advised get them clipped or removed prior to ivf. I chose removal as blocked tubes can also cause pain too. So either was natural or ivf you will need to get it treated to improve chance of pregnancy. I hope this helps

Hi, I'm due to have my 4th lap soon to get my tubes removed/clipped. I insisted with the surgeon not to remove my tubes the previous two laps as I wanted to still have a chance of getting pregnant naturally (as I conceivdd naturally 10 years ago with my first) so i had them unblocked with a dye test, but the tubes blocked up again within a few months and now the ivf consultant says I need to get them treated as thry are leaking fluid into my uterus. In my case, time is of the essence as I am now over 40 and need to get pregnant soon whilst my hormonelevels are still good enough to use my own eggs.
Hope this helps and good luck xx
Thank you for your reply. Again i didn't realise blocked tubes actually cause damage so thank you for your advice. I'm sorry to hear your story sounds like a tough time. Have you always had laps because of fertility or have you found they do help with pain?
thank you and good luck to you too x
I'm very fortunate that I do already have a beautiful boy who was conceived naturally. I have only been diagnosed with endometriosis the last 1 year after have investigations for an ovarian cyst. The blockage of the tubes was a massive shock found earlier in the year, not sure if it's a complication of the previous laparoscopy. I had been to speak to someone with regards possibility of needing ivf prior to having my surgery and they also told me I would need to have the tubes removed before having ivf as the fluid can hinder your success!
It's nice to hear a positive story of a successful preganancy after having tubes removed miwa! Good luck!
