I've just seen the gynaecologist who has put me on Microgynon and an idu. Does anyone know if this works??

She kindly told me that if this doesn't work then there is nothing else she is able to do. I hope this is not going to be the case, but under the circumstances I'm not feeling all that confident!!

Hi.

Microgynon is the contraceptive pill isn't it? This is a common way to try take some control of the periods by making them more regular. Some women find it helps a little to alleviate the symptoms. It again one of those things that is individual. Some have the coil to try help.

Have you had a Laproscopy to have a definite diagnosis? If not then you can ask for this..may take a bit of a fight depending on the dr.

Another way Endo is attempted to be treated is by hormonal drugs with put your body into a pseudeo menopause. Again down to the individual how this works for them. But if you are wanting to try for a baby soon then this obviously isn't the route to use.

Stronger pain medication is another such as mefenamic acid.

Some people try changing their diets and others try acupuncture, rheki, counselling, hypnotherapy.

There are options. Unfortunately it is a try and see what works best for you. It is something we have to learn to cope and live with unfortunately.

Hope this helps. Do not stop fighting for answers and help..they will come eventually.

Hey Squidgy

It is a contraceptive pill. It's the third i have tried in the past 18 months. I have had two laps in the past 14 years. The last was in November, when I had the coil fitted.

I've been thinking of using homeopathy to ease some of the discomfort, and possibly the Endo diet. I've heard that in some cases it works, so it's a possibility.

Thanks

Helen
