I am on Zoladex for endo and find at about week three I start getting bad symptoms again.. Does this come in different strengths? Or is it just coincidence. I am coming up to my fourth injection. The side effects are killing me but the original symptoms are worse so....
Thanks for any input

Hello, my experience was much the same. The zoladex seemed to take a few days to kick in and start to wear off when it was due. As I got further into the course it took longer to kick in and ge last week waiting for the next implant seemed very long. Side affects were really harsh, in particular arthritic joint pain. It did relieve my endo pain but felt like I'd replaced one pain with another one. However once the endo returned I realised how good it had been as pain relief. Waiting for hysterectomy now x
Yes, the joint pain is horrendous. I just want to wake up, after actually sleeping through the night and not feel like I've been laying in the motorway all night with trucks running over me.... I can't hardly move for joint pain and stiffness but it is still better than the endo! Unbelievable. Good luck with hysterectomy, they won't give me one as it's too hazardous apparently. X
Yeah I'm exactly the same. By week three I start to feel bad again. The side effects are awful...but it's the lesser of two evils as without the injections, I'm bedridden xx
Thank you, gosh, I feel for you! Only got three more injections but I'm dreading what happens after! Going to speak to gP today and see if there is a stronger one...
There isn't a stronger one - yo would just have to bring your next one to an earlier date. Zoladex is either 1 month or 3 month options. You do not need the 3month one- that is for prostate cancer patients, but you might benefit from having the next implant a few days sooner, though it certainly would not be recommended by the manufacturer.
Hi I also was put on a course of the zoladex. And when the drug got into my system, it simply turned me into a monster. I had terrible side effects with it. My mood swings were terrible, how my partner put up with me was a miracle!!!! I was on the course for 6 months and it did me no good. Just had my 3rd lapro done and ended up loosing my right ovary and tube!! My consultant told me that you can only have one course of the zoladex and I seem to remember that it does come in certain strengths. Good luck
Hi I have just had my second course and the first wasnt so bad, had a mega heavy period for about 8 days first one in 18 months and then towards the end started to have a couple of hot flushes. I had my second one last week and the pain seems to be much easier to deal with but I am starting to have night sweats and feeling tired and a bit tearful.
Hi I'm on Prostap and same thing happened to me - 3days after injection Endo pain reduced but side effects on joints agony - then the crazy HOT flushes and I feel my mind has gone foggy. By the 3rd week my endo pain returns and I am cripple again. I had the 3 month injection on April 1st - side effects returned with additional high blood pressure. Got my hysterectomy next week - at 55 I'm ok with that - just dreading the side effects of that medication plus what I'm already on - roll on September when I hope to be feeling I little more like myself.
