Hello.

I was put on Danazol after my first laparoscopy in 1991,

I found this medication very effective for the pain but I had a few nasty side effects including acne and facial hair.

In 1991 I was told I had stage 2 Endo. The Danazol was prescribed prior to me undergoing laser removal of endometriosis and ovarian drilling (I also have PCOS) in 1992.

It Definitely helped with the pain and if you do get side effects that you can't tolerate, you can just stop taking the pills.

Best wishes,

Barbara

Thank you for your response Barbara! Did they try to use it to diagnosis you instead of surgery and then that didn't work so you did the surgery? I read somewhere that it actually can diminish the legions of endo. This is the last resort for me before I start trying acupuncture. The last thing i tried was ethinyl estradiol levonorgestrel (progesterone and estrogen). It actually helped dramatically for a year and then i started to get the severe side effects so I stopped taking it. I am hoping that sense Danazol is a steroid the side effects won't be as bad. But I am to the last resort for pain.

I was diagnosed by laparoscopy first and then prescribed Danazol. After Danazol I had laser surgery and then we fell pregnant for my eldest daughter.

Nothing cures Endo but things can be used to manage the symptoms

I currently have the mirena in and had my first GNRH injection last tuesday.

Here is some information for you to look at.

After reading this it sounds like the same side effects I as having with

the birth control I was taking. Lord! Is there anything out there that doesn't cause side effects. I think I may just want to try the acupuncture. Have you ever tried that for your pain?
