in pain...

Im not sure if i have endometriosis but for months i have been getting pelvic pain thats so painful when i walk, lay or sit, i've had a urine infection twice in the last few months and its taken since last May to get a scan, all i was told was that it was pelvis pain, i haven't received a letter for my scan yet, but i'm in absolute agony, my pain is on my right side and i have a dull ache in the leg, now i suffer from sciatica but I know this is more than sciatica because its in the pelvic region and travels to my groin, what can i do to make the doctors go quicker as i can't stand this pain much longer. its making me feel sick and I'm having no sleep, do i need to push for diagnosis??

Hi I am sorry to hear that you are suffering so much with this pain. I know how it feels and it can be incredibly frustrating waiting around for the doctors to get their act together! Often the only way to get them to listen is to really push them, and emphasise the impact the pain is having on your life. I wrote down a list of my symptoms and how often I get them and showed them to my GP. I think that emphasised the severity of them, although I am lucky that my GP took it quite seriously. I also had to chase my scan up because something went wrong with the referal, so they had to re-refer me.

If your doctor still doesn't do anything, I would recommend finding a different doctor, preferably one with a special interest in gynecology. You might be able to find out their special interests on the GP surgery website.

I have the exact same symptoms and the pain is excruciating at times ive been told I have sciatica as well but im waiting for my 1st laparoscopy in march to get a diagnosis but I had to really push and push to get this far. Make sure you explain to the dr how much it is effecting your life and get referred to a gynae x

The doctor told me i had Urine infections for 2 years un till they admitted they were wrong and diagnosed me with Endometriosis. Have had it for 5 years now! Get a referral to the gynecologist, that's the only way i found out. Hope all sorts out x
