I had my laparoscopy this morning...

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries at the age of 20 (having had a laparoscopy at 17 or 18 which showed no endo) I stop using contraception about six months before we got married, which was over 13 years ago! I sought fertlity help a few years back, and this was done on the basis of having PCOS with no further investigation. At least I know I do ovulate, although mainly only on one side.

My sister was diagnosed with endo early last year, and having discussed her symptoms alarm bells started ringing! Got a referral, and my op today confirmed the diagnosis. The gyno also removed what he could (apparently it's quite deep rooted)

Long story short - the reason for going through the formal diagnosis and treatment is to give me one last chance to conceive. I am 37 years old, time is nearly up. The gyno didn't give me much confidence today - his words were along the lines of 'the removal certainly won't reduce your chances of conceiving...'

Just need to get that all of my chest really. I'm a very private person, so haven't really discussed this all with my family or friends. Cocked up the chance to talk to my sister about it face to face in detail, as she has been over from NZ for a couple of weeks but will be on her way home now :(
