Do I have 3rd op or not :(

Hiya,
Oh it's rubbish sometimes isn't it. I'm 33 and had 2 major ops (laparotomies) for endometrial cysts and endo in 2006 and 2007 (diagnosed at 25, 8 years after telling the doc I had endo), IVF with my ex that didn't work in 2008 and since then have done all I can to avoid doctors etc and try to build myself a life. Basically, rather than harp on about myself I just wanted to tell you that I understand some of the dilemma you're in. The time for me has now come, I think, for another op and it scares the bejesus out of me.
Have they told you what the purpose of the op would be? Have you got people you can talk to? Are they putting pressure on you about children? I hope you have a doctor / consultant you can trust.
Basically Same as other go in remove the endo again. Not been to see gyne yet as back in March he wanted me to have it and I said no now my own gp is advising it, and as for children they not actually because I have been trying to persuade them to remove my womb since I was 21 x
I said no to my surgeon last year as well as I've got a job I have worked so hard for and needed to finish my teaching qualification. My GP got frustrated because I refused hormonal treatment, painkillers or surgery and told me there was nothing else they could do. It's a huge quandary. I've got to a bit of a breaking point now because the endo is affecting me physically and emotionally but I'm not having anything done until I've got a consultant that listens to me. You know your body best, how long you take to recover, what support you need, please don't feel pressurised until you're ready.
I have had 3 laps and had a child naturally which was a huge surprise , really didn't expect it to happen
I presume when you talk of risks, you mean adhesions (scar tissue) formation. Each surgery can worsen scar tissue and it is a dilemma for those who have had failed surgery in the past due to adhesions, do you risk more surgery or live with the pain and symptoms. If you do opt for surgery make sure you have a specialist surgeon who is an expert in the field of endo and adhesions, I cannot emphasize this enough!
