Finally got an appointment.

So I finally got seeing the gynae doctor and he, putting it simply, was quite pissed I hadn't been seen earlier. The Mierna coil had moved and is embredded in the walls and he suspects my Endo had gotten not only in my bowels but into my joint muscles as well which is causing my hip pain. So I'm finally being admitted into hospital but the letter I got says it's for inpatient/day case procedure, I was under the impression it was going to be as outpatient or is this the same thing? I've been googling it and inpatient means I'd be kept in so would I need to take an overnight bag with me? I don't really know what any of it means, I know I'm going in for a diagnostic Lap so I dunno really. It's all go at the minute and I've nothing to help manage the pain as nothing seems to be working for me anymore. I've tried next to every tablet there is and the ones that are left I can't take because I'm asthmatic or because of my heart problem.

Do any of you lovely people know of anything else I could use instead to help with the pain?

I hope everything is going well for everyone else, one small step at a time it seems :)

I don't think "out patient" and "day case" are the same thing. If you are having a lap it will probably be in day surgery where you will not stay overnight unless there are complications. You should be getting an appointment for a pre-op assessment when all this will be explained, including what to take in with you.

I had a diagnostic lap but they found so much endo that the surgeon tackled most of it while he was in there! It's normally only supposed to be a day surgery so you get sent home the same day but I had so much done I was kept in overnight! I would pack an overnight bag just in case. Normally you will have a pre op assesment done therefore a nurse should inform you of everything that's going to happen and allow you to ask any questions about the procedure! Good luck x
