I am currently being dragged through the process Of getting someone to listen to me. I have endo and it was lasered about four years back and have been on some form of contraception since then so no periods. Pain is getting worse and I can literally feel my ovaries burn.
So I'm finally going to a good consultant and want to make sure
I explain everything. But I can't describe the pain sometimes.
How would you describe your pain and general feeling ?!

I get different types of pain. I get sudden stabbing/pulling pains from my pelvic scar tissue, heavy dragging pain, cramps. I sometimes feel like I've got a cannon ball in my pelvic region and I can't stand upright :/
Have you been keeping a pain diary? I've got an app called womanlog. It's a calendar where you can log all your menses and pains/symptoms to show your consultant.
this site s good there is a pdf on there that gives you a list of pain and how to describe it and a pain diary s a good idea it helps s your doctor see patterns
Hey thats really interesting thanks. I am being referred to a psychiatrist for pelvic pain at my gynae hos. Do u think the questionnaire is a good idea so she can see what and when my pain is bad? xx
Yes definatly. The better you can explain it the better your results with gp. When I saw the gynecologist at first I wasn't all that clear and she was a bit reluctant about surgery then I saw her again and could explain it better and I'm having a diagnostic lapy in 11 days. There are lots of other pelvic conditions so knowing if it's cyclical etc help them and you. It is a bit horrible though cause you feel like you're fighting to be heard and understood!! Let me know how it goes x
dear samanthac , when you have your lap please be prepared for this, i dont want to scare you but from my own experience ive had 2 laps due for a 3rd in four weeks, and what ie read from others, the worst of the post op pain is from the gas they inflate the abdomen with. its like really bad trapped wind , make sure you empty your bowels before your op and i would advise taking some laxatives ( but not too many ) as going to the loo can be very painful the first couple of times post op. also some other ladies on here have recommended peppermint tea to help disburse the wind. good luck honey , didnt want to worry you , but i wish some one had warned me of this before my first lap.xxx
Thank you. I was just diagnosed in november and struggling with it all. Good luck for ur op, would love to hear how u get on. Some of the questions are great and i even want to take this into my counsellor for a diff reason to help explain something. Very helpful. xxx
I scribble daily pain and symptoms on my calender but usually there is insufficient space to log it all.
Womanlog sounds a great idea. Trouble is, when you have say a 10 minute appointment with your Gp it's hard to try and cram in all the info into a small slot, so giving them a day by day log on paper to peruse, does sound sensible. I often leave the surgery and think 'damn, forgot to say this or that', there are so many symptoms surrounding this condition together with the crippling pain it's all too easy to leave things out ie Chronic pain, bowel symptoms, bladder symptoms, low back and hip pain, body stiffness, pinchiing, pulling, burning, fatigue, poor sleep, cramps, bloating, waistbands hurt, connected anxiety and depression, you name it!!!
Definitely keep lists and diaries, even if yor doc doesn't have time to see them it's useful to compare month on month or year on year, and how good or bad different treaments make you feel.
