Hi

Whilst researching MEA microwave endometrial ablation I came across this.

It's Ashermans Syndrome , had anyone heard of it or been told they may have it. A lot of the symptoms are are similar and I for one had a D & C straight after a miscarriage,

Makes you wonder!!! Although sometimes not sure if Internet is a good thing or a bad thing lol.

Nope I hadn't heard of it but WOW a great website find. Thanks for that.

I certainly had come across adhesions inside around the cervix, being the cause of painful sex and agonising smear tests and the adhesions inside the tubes too.

But it makes a lot of sense to read about adhesions inside the uterus, regardless of what caused them to be there.

As someone considering MEA for the future, It's an excellent bit of homework you have found to read.

I'd never say the internet is a bad thing, it's how you use the information that's available that matters. Learning what is a useful website and what isn't.

And that one is a useful website.

I should add that after several miscarriages in a row, my sister had D&C to clean her up and next pregnancy went as smooth as a bell and was swiftly followed by a rather unexpected and not planned for baby no.3. So D&C can be very useful in cleaning things up inside and improving the odds of a fertilised egg actually finding somewhere to nest. everything has is risks of complications though.

I have ashermans syndrome diagnosed by my gynae doc.. I had an ablation 2 years ago and a c section 10 years ago. Each month I have the most horrific pain without the heavy bleed. Last 2 months I've been admitted to hosp for morphine.. I am now waiting for a full hysterectomy... I'm 40 years old and feel utterly cheesed off with it all

Sorry to hear that. Hope they get to the bottom of your problems . I'm more than a little dejected . Had a lap after 6 months of

Decapeptyl they found no endo but only had a scare on one side so a little bemused. Also had a failed. (By equipment) ablation so a month later went back in for another endometrial ablation by the balloon method. Unfortunately this hasn't worked either and I'm bk to square one left sided pelvic pain, painful periods ok not as heavy and not as many clots but mood swings and almost constant pain is driving me made. Was discharged from the Hosp straight after second op without them finding out if it worked . Really not sure what to do .

Do you have an appt to go back to your consultant? You need one!!! I haven't had a lap. Or been offered one! I also have pain on one side (right) and constant aching in my groin and hips. Mood swings are terrible :-( I am having monthly prostrap injections and am on tibolone daily.. Not sure if this helps as have just had the worst period ever! I'm waiting for an appt. and it can't come soon enough. Keep me posted and hang on in there x
