No sorry i have never heard of it what is it for?

no but it sounds a similar type of drug to amitryptiline which is what my doc was going to give me but apparently as I'm taking so much other stuff I would have to have a 5 week withdrawal period before I started it so it was a no no although he said it was very effective with the kind of pain I get-have you googled it?

Hello me again-I just looked at wickipedia for you-its an antidepressant also found to be very good for pain relief which is why my gp suggested it as I'm on antidepressants and morphine-worth a try? I think with this condition ANYTHING is worth a try.Under pressure from my long-suffering other-half, today I tried accupuncture for the first time, I only had a small session and it did take some pain away although this made other pain (I need 2 new hips-damn!) more obvious, so I've agreed to have a course of sessions. I'll keep you posted despite my scepticism.

It's from the same family of tricyclic antidepressants as amitriptyline, which I have been taking for 18 months for nerve pain. I struggled a little for the first month after I started taking it I admit; dizziness, extreme drowsiness, a feeling that the earth was "slipping away" from beneath my feet if I turned my head too quickly, very dry mouth and some dull headaches, but these gradually lessened and by the end of the first month I was fine and have been ever since.

Not sure if this helps or not - I know it doesn't sound very encouraging - but I now take 100mg a day and I wouldn't want to be without it. I was in unbearable pain becore and now I can tolerate it a lot better x

On googling drug there.are.a.lot of.side.effects warnings I would read these first. You should also.ask.your doctor why he is putting you on this. Sometimes side effects are worse. I was.prescribed amitryptilene to help me sleep 10mg and then 25mg due.to nerve.pain. However I.still woke up at night with pain. I now.find.takng diclofenac 50mg and dihydricodeine 30mg before bed helps.me sleep. taking amitrypitilene left me feeling groggy in mornings and also gave.me.bladder.problems. just ask your lolocal.dr.what.your.consultant.has.said.in.their.report as this.will.give.you.an.explanation/nderstandng. You can also.discuss any.worries you have.about.taking.the.drug.
