What do you take for a heavy metal cleansing?

Gfr at stage 2. I am 47 and am hovering in my 70's, as far as gfr goes. Everything else is normal, kidneys scanned and they are normal, no high blood pressure, no diabetes . . . I am eating a clean, organic vegan diet now, on the lower protein side, just trying to stabilize everything or make it a bit better.

Was thinking about a supplement for a heavy metal cleanse? I'm half way through life and that might be good.

Does anyone have anything they can recommend, that they have taken and gotten any results with?

Right now, I am currently taking just vit c, b, d, probiotics, some reseveratrol, and I do arginex every now and then, which is a kidney/liver support.

Thanks ya'll . . . wishing you all improved health!

This forum has really helped me formulate the right changes to make!

I'm a bit confused by your numbers. You consider yourself stage 2 CKD. This would be true if your only basis is on your egfr for your age. But simply saying my egfr is "xx" is NOT enough to say you have any type of kidney disease. You may be perfectly well, for your age, without any abnormal kidney disease or damage and still be INCORRECTLY labelled as having CKD. This is the problem with the "egfr" approach. As you may know, in one breath the medical community will say an egfr of over 60 is normal. BUT the formula, as in your case, with an egfr of 70 says you are stage 2 kidney disease. Above 60 is normal, but 70 is diseased? No. It is necessary to have additional criteria, not just the result of some generalized formula (egfr). First, your egr must be tested for 3 consecutive months. A one time test is not enough because our egfr does fluctuate. Urine must be tested (again 3 months) to see what your protein level is. There should only be trace amounts of protein in the urine (normal). If after 3 months of testing, there is suspicion of decline (disease) most doctors will do an ultrasound. THEN it will be determined if it is CKD or not (again remember 70 is considered "normal").

You have been checked, and scanned, have an egfr consistently in the 70's, I would not become so consumed with doubts and fears about CKD, make dramatic changes or steps. Just keep active, bp and sugar under control, and I bet everything will continue to be just fine.
