Beta blockers are considered the second line of choice for blood pressure medications and are known to potentially lower your egfr. BUT the exception to that is nadolol which has been found to preserve the egfr level (not lower it). But each of us is different. It also can be a combination of things that caused a 10 point drop (although you do not say how long between your tests so it is hard to speculate). If it dropped 10 points quickly and only since taking Nadolol, it should be obvious to your doctor that it is at least part of the cause and with so many blood pressure medications available, they would try a different one. Part of the 10 point drop could be also you were not properly hydrated, or recently before the last test were not watching your dietary intake, or recently before the test increased you exercise level, etc., etc. OR a combination of any of those things PLUS the nadolol. When you received the 10 point drop your doctor did not say anything??? Ask them.
