I have stage 3 and all my research tells me light weight training is very important for renal patients. It helps build and maintain muscle mass and bone health. Just do not get too intense. You can figure what is too intense by following your heart rate keep it in the low to moderate zone and don't go over that. If you do stop and bring your heart rate down. Also, if you are exercising so hard that you can't talk you are exercising too hard. Now what light weights are is another thing to consider.

I was told in stage 5 no weight lifting. Walking is great but lifting weights increases creatinine
