Not sure if I’m in the right place. I’ve been having a lot of problems for years a doctor ordered a lot of bloods to be done. They picked up abnormal vitam d vitamin b12 and my u&e’s were also abnormal I’m wondering if anyone started out like this? As everything I read leads back to kidney problems sorry if I’m in the wrong place just looking for help x

Hi Tolucretia78,

Welcome to our community. To be honest it is very easy for folks to try to self-diagnose based on symptoms etc. but please do get back to your doctors as they know your full medical history, and can order the appropriate tests etc. Tell them your concerns and have a frank discussion. Please bear in mind that this is a peer support forum and not a substitute for professional medical advice. The advice given here based on experiences of members may be well-intentioned but may not be correct or appropriate for you, and could be misleading.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Best wishes,

You seem to be under medical care, which is good. But what are you actually searching for? You doctors ran lots of tests and they found you low in B12, D. You apparently met with the doctor to get these results. So he/she must have given you medical advice or direction. You did NOT say that there were any abnormal reporting of things related to any particular body organ, such as kidney. So it seems you just need to listen to the doctor and accept his direction. Low B12, or D, or both can show up in a blood test of course. But how low? A minor bit? Just because you have not been eating correctly or something? Or a serious amount due to some illness. Certainly the doctor must have told you if they were concerned or not. If you want to know causes of low B12, D (at serious levels), just go to google. Search on "deficiency of vitamin D" (or B12). You will find there are many, many causes. So without knowing your other lab results and medical history we can not give our experience. The best thing you can do is stop looking for problems and getting misdirected (thinking it is the kidney) and talk to the doctors who know you completely.

Best of luck
