Hi I'm new to this group just thought I'd introduce myself. I've recently been diagnosed with CKD (egfr 32) after having kidney stones followed by 3 serious infections. It's scary to be told that your possibly 4 years from dialysis!

Hello axol36, and welcome to this community and new site for yourself.

This has very supportive members and I am sure they will welcome you.

It is scary to be told you have any type of health issue but perhaps the health professionals were giving you the worse scenario to help you to understand that certain health style changes can be made for this scenario to be stalled or helped. Such as lifestyle and eating habits change perhaps? A positive attitude can help too. It is difficult to speculate without more information. Perhaps you would like to expand on the info you have already given us.

Please keep talking to this community as I understand that you are on other communities with some anxiety levels. Let us help you with your health journey and stay positive.

Best wishes to you and look forward to hearing from you again.

Good luck

MAS Nurse and Moderator.

Do anything and everything you can to avoid dialysis and find a living donor before you need to start dialysis. I mean ANYTHING and EVERYTHING - diet, exercise, medicines and get actively learning and looking into living donor process. I have a daughter that has been on dialysis for two years and I would not wish it on anyone. I wish we would have been informed about living donor options long ago when progressive kidney disease was diagnosed.
