At stage 3 I wouldn't think coffee is a problem. Patients who are on dialysis have to avoid it because of the high potassium content. It's usually restricted to 2 cups a week. Speak to your dietician for clarification.
yes coffee is fine in moderation at that stage my husband on dialysis is allowed 1 a day if its filtered coffee instant is not allowed as it is processed & contains high potassium x
I am nearly at stage 5 and still drink coffee with milk in moderation (normally one cup a day). When I was first diagnosed with CKD I packed it up but it made no difference to my blood results and going back on it has made no change to them either so I will continue to drink it. I also enjoy green tea and fruit tea as well.

I am stage 5 and still drink a cup a day, sometimes 2! Haven't noticed it making any difference. I just figure I have to keep something I emjoy😀
I have remained in ckd stage 3a for two years. I was told not to drink coffee, and I don't. I got used to it.
I used to love coffee and drank several cups daily......when I got to stage 5 it just made me feel sick so I stopped for a while and now enjoy drinking tea.....but a cappuccino every now and then is a great treat and doesn't seem to affect me so much......
I had failing kidney function for 7 uears before starting dialysis 2 years ago. I have never changed my usual coffee intake of about 4 cups per day. Its really down to your potassium level and how much liquid you retain between sessions. In my case i guess im lucky because i can eat fruit and other high potassium foods too. So just watch effect on potassium levels because too high is really bad for the heart
