Got a new kidney

Hi all.

I had a transplant on the 25th of April 17 all has gone well but came to clinic and they have found my creatine has shot up so back on ward 9 at MRI unable to sleep worried about kidney biopsy as I have never had 1 before.

I know there's a lot worse off than me but I'm so scared wish they would knock me out first.

Hi buryboy.

Congrats on your tx

My tx was in jan 2015 and my gfr is 25 and creatine is 250 to 270 and still on six weekly clinic appointments so try not to wourie all will be sorted as for the biopsy the worst part is having to lie on your back for six hour plus after what we have had to go through its a doddle.

Once again congratulations on the tx and good luck.

You get a local and dont feel a thing the thought of a biopsy is far worse than the biopsy itself i was the same and after a tx and a bilateral nephrectomy all in 12 months had worked myself up into a right state all for nothing you will be ok

Hi Buryboy if it helps i had a kidney biopsy 18 months ago at the renal unit in St James Leeds and apart from being a bit uncomfortable i was fine and it helped a lot with my diagnosis Wengers.I had to lay on my back for 6 hours then gradually raising me all this to prevent bleeding but i can say it was ok dont worry too much about the procedure.Hope this helps.
