Fosfomycin

I've had a UTI almost continually for the last 9 years and was on Methenamine Hippurate with Ascorbic Acid. However, when I changed GP's a couple of years ago they refused to continue prescribing this because ' you're not allowed vitamins on the NHS '. So my infections have got steadily worse until I've just been prescribed Fosfomycin. I'm waiting for the pharmacy to order it in, but does anyone have experience of this antibiotic?

I've also had a recent renal scan which showed my left kidney at 57% eGFR and left 41. I'm sure these continuing infections must be causing this decline.
