Results of my latest kidney function test showed GFR at 57 from 53 in January. the best it's been in ten years. Not done anything different, no dietary restrictions although I don't eat much meat. I'll forget about it now for another six months. But it does emphasise how these numbers are not fixed and the only way is NOT down.

Stargazey, well done, isn't it a fantastic feeling when the GFR number goes up, you are doing really well, mine went up for the first time when I went to be checked a couple of weeks ago from 23 to 29, first improvement since I had my left kidney removed 2 years ago. Lets hope we both keep doing so.

Pleased for you Jill, your body is obviously stabilising and coping well. We can relax til our next tests are due, don't even know what causes mine. But best not to overthink - onwards and upwards for us both x

Excellent news Stargazey, let's hope it keeps going in the right direction. My last blood results were pretty good as well as mine had increased from 56 to 60. I have had another test done recently and am seeing the GP for results next Monday so am hoping they will have either stayed the same or improved. I have been told that the levels do fluctuate so won't be totally surprised if it drops again but anyway, here's hoping !! :-)

That is great news. I am just going for another blood test this morning and fingers crossed mine has either stayed at 18% or gone up a little.
