Good Hygiene

I am CKD 3A.

I constantly brush/floss and rinse my teeth.

I always feel as if I need a mint.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Other than drinking water and lowering my protein intake, is there something else we can do to help? Mr creative level fluctuations between 1.3 and 1.5.

The kidneys clean your blood but if they are not working well you constantly have to fight against bad hygiene.

I have CKD , and diagnosed at level 3b. I too have teeth issues. My Dentist believes it can be caused by Kidney Disease. Here is a link to MD Edge on the subject. mdedge.com/clinicianreviews...

Thank you.

While I don’t have periodontist disease, I am still bothered with dry mouth.

My dental hygienist suggested I use biotene for dry mouth.

My dental hygienist suggested I use biotene and I use it or other brands. The dry mouth rinse helps.

I remember having these issues only to well. I brushed my teeth after every meal, used mouth wash, etc. and still had horrible breathe. I carried "tic tacs" in my pocket where ever I went. I don't have an answer for you. My doctor told me it had to do with being dehydrated and my electrolytes being off due to my CKD. I will tell you, that once I had a transplant I did not have that problem any more.
