Hello Lioncub

Hello there sorry to hear your diagnosis just a few questions re your rash. Have you started any new medications that you could be reacting to? Are you drinking plenty? Have you seen your GP?

Regards Christine

Hi Christine thanks for your response to answer your question no new meds however I have a lot of water retention in my calf and ankle since this has started my skin has become really dry, I drink loads, no alcohol as I am also epileptic and the meds do not mix with alcohol at all the rash is like prickly heat it drives me crazy. I will be visiting my Gp this week.

Thanks for your help

are you an amlodipine by any chance for your blood pressure control that makes my ankles swell but never had a rash.

I would see your GP, as the rash is unlikely to be just from ckd. Dry skin might get them to check your phosphate levels , as that can cause dry skin and itchiness ,

Definitely see your gp , if you are already getting water retention at this early stage , that usually on occurs at stage 5 , so must be something else kicking off .

Hello lioncub 56 , I have had a red rash which has also been very itchy, not on my legs though, it was on my torso and neck and arms, the rash has now started to ease thank goodness but still slightly itchy , I put this down to having an iron infusion last Monday, will be seeing my specialist in a couple of weeks and query it with him, he is pretty good, but general G.P. really has no idea about renal problems. I would try and ask your specialist if you can. Good luck.

Hi my mum is at stage 4 and when she has too much phosphate she itches like crazy! She's constantly having to meticulously check labels on food. I have recently read a report that in America they are going to label PHOS on all food items containing them. Hope it catches on here x
